Over the last few years, he has been delivering innovative and strategic solutions in a fast-paced mobile environment across different industries. As the Director of Technology at Shockoe, Phil is ensuring the right technology is being used to enhance the client’s product offerings and help crack the complexities in today’s technical landscape. Outside of the office, Phil enjoys running, craft beer, and spending time with his wife Kendra and their three daughters.
Mason Brown
Mason Brown is an experience designer at Shockoe. His experience includes work on AR solutions for Benefit Cosmetics, VR and Retail design with Google, VR experiences with American Eagle as well many projects in the non-profit space promoting athletics in the Richmond area. With a passion for systems and product design, Mason works with clients in identifying business problems, understanding the needs of the user and crafting products that benefit both. He strives to understand the needs of people to make products that feel personal.
Mason holds a Master of Science degree in Experience Design from the VCU Brandcenter and a BA in Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Will is the CEO of Cloudy Data Systems a local tech startup focusing on public blockchain security. Prior to his current role, Will spent time in the banking industry having originally attended Virginia Tech for a Masters in Accounting and Information Systems. After his time in banking, Will returned to the University of Virginia for a Masters in Data Science. Fusing this new tech-centered degree with his banking experience, Will became a blockchain technology and crypto-currency evangelist. In his free time, Will loves programming in Python on his System76 laptop, enjoying new restaurants in Richmond, traveling, and long walks on the beach.
Mike Upchurch is the Chief Strategy Officer at Notch where he is responsible for strategic planning, identification of growth opportunities, innovation, partnerships, marketing, and business development. Prior to working at Notch, he co-founded Fuzzy Logix, a leading analytics software and consulting firm. Mike has designed and delivered analytic and business intelligence solutions for more than 18 years working for companies such as Bank of America, The Hunter Group and PWC.
